Not a great deal to tell you today!

Really looking forward to watching the new Game of Thrones either tonight or tomorrow, along with the last Walking Dead.

I’ve had a few knockbacks from magazines and competitions recently but I’m still writing!

My birthday’s coming up, which is nice. I’ll be most disappointed if I don’t get a trebuchet.

Right, back to the writing. Oh, go on then, a silly haiku- that can be my new minimum post.

Nom nom Easter egg,

Hollow ovoid choccy treat,

Shame there’s no foetus.

Our Daily Beard – 31/03/13

Happy Easter everyone!

Just a quick one today, a little poem!

More time for chocolate.

Sheeshter

It’s not about Jesus, whose tale is second hand at best,

It’s not about Eostre, as pagans might contest,

It’s not about Ishtar, the love and war goddess.

The eggs are a clue,

The bunnies are too,

While the flowers are growing,

And the sun is finally showing.

It’s about doing it.

Doing it, doing it, doing it, doing it, doing it and chocolate.

Brains.

I reckon I’ll take this time today to get my endorse on.

There are a lot of comedy cartoon shows for adults- Family Guy, The Simpsons and Futurama (to an extent), American Dad, The Cleveland Show, South Park, yada.

There’s one more which has slipped under the radar for a lot of people: Archer.

Archer is now in its fourth series and hasn’t dropped a beat once in quality or humour. It’s a spy spoof, taking off James Bond and all the rest. Archer is an inept frat-boy agent who only has the gig with private intelligence agency ‘Isis’ because his mother runs it.

His mother is a horrible, horrible bitch. His co-workers are inept. He’s misogynistic and arrogant and somewhat thick.

In short, it’s hilarious! They make a surprising amount of language jokes, which always tickle me. For example: “I happen to have perfect situational awareness, Lana. Which cannot be taught, by the way. Like a poet’s … mind for … to make the perfect words.”

Anyway, look at youtube, because you can’t convey this stuff in word format.

Have a good Saturday, don’t forget Doctor Who!
