Mortiis tour UK with Combrichrist! Also, first ever live Spotify gig!

Regurgitatum x 2! :

Following a wildly success European tour, Mortiis will once again team up with Combichrist for another round of dates in the UK this summer.

“We haven´t played the UK in a while, it feels great to finally be able to get back over there and meet some old friends and hopefully gain some new ones,” said band namesake Mortiis.  “The European tour with Combichrist was a blast so we know this one will be too.

The Mortiis/Combichrist European tour took the two groups on a two month-long trek all throughout the continent.  During the tour, Mortiis offered fans a preview of the band’s newest material, which is starkly heavier and more aggressive than past offerings.

Prior to the European tour, Mortiis was focused preparing  their latest releases, the upcoming full-length “The Great Deceiver” and “Perfectly Defect,” a free digital download unveiled October 10 at www.mortiis.com.  ”

Elly Jackson, from platinum-selling electro act, La Roux, will top the bill with a DJ set at the first UK gig to be streamed live on Spotify. The event is part of the Nissan Juke ‘Behind the Hit’ campaign to uncover new music talent.

Taking place on Tuesday 5th April 2011 at London’s Koko, Nissan Juke has secured the recent Grammy award winners for Best Dance Album to perform alongside Delphic, The Naked And Famous and Pony Pony Run Run.

Elly will play a DJ set including tracks a new recording Helly from Ben Daniels, who was specially selected as the winner of recent Nissan Juke ‘Behind The Hit’ competition. Both amateurs and pro music-makers alike were invited to mix their own tracks online, with Ben Daniels’ prize being the opportunity to record Helly with La Roux’s Ben Langmaid, in advance of the Koko event.

Those keen to watch the gig in real-time can either check it out on Spotify or go to www.behindthehit.com.

Commenting on the event, Andy Jackson, Online Marketing Manager Nissan GB says: “The aim of the ‘Behind the Hit’ competition was to find an uplifting song that sets the mood when you’re driving for a night out. We feel we’ve done that with Helly and look forward to the first public hearing at Koko and through Spotify.”

Jonathan Foster, General Manager Europe of Spotify, says: “Giving our users access to great live music in their own home is the next step in the Spotify experience. We hope to see many more in the near future!”

Ben Langmaid of La Roux said: “We’ve loved working with Ben Daniels and think his track will get a great reaction from the crowd on the night.”
