October 12th, 2012- Bethesda marks the launch date for Dishonoured!

Innit:

May 10th, 2012 (London, UK) – Bethesda Softworks®, a ZeniMax® Media company, today announced that Dishonored™, the supernatural assassin action game under development at Arkane® Studios, will be available in  North America on October 9, in Australia on October 11 and throughout Europe on October 12, 2012.  Developed under the direction of co-creative directors Raphael Colantonio and Harvey Smith, Dishonored is slated for release on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, and Games for Windows.

Dishonored is set in Dunwall, an industrial whaling city where steampunk- inspired technology and otherworldly forces coexist in the shadows. You are Corvo, the once-trusted bodyguard of the beloved Empress who has been murdered. Framed for the crime, you become an infamous assassin, known by the disturbing mask that has become your calling card. In a time of uncertainty, when the city is besieged by plague and ruled by a corrupt government armed with frightening technologies, dark forces bestow supernatural abilities upon you – but at what cost? The truth behind your betrayal is as murky as the waters surrounding the city, and the life you once had is gone forever.

Creatively eliminate your enemies with Dishonored’s flexible combat system as you combine supernatural abilities with weapons and gadgets at your disposal. Pursue your targets under the cover of darkness or boldly attack them head on with weapons drawn. The outcome of each mission plays out based on the choices you make.

“We are pleased that Dishonored has captured people’s attention,” said Vlatko Andonov, president of Bethesda Softworks. “We are looking forward to sharing lots more information about the game leading up to its launch in October, and having a hands-on build of Dishonored in our booth at E3!”

Bethesda announce Elder Scrolls Online!

Hi!

Well, they gorn and done it.

Bethesizzle has announced that we will get a Scrolls MMORPG.

Personally, I have little time for this genre. I want to enjoy a story and setting, not to be harangued by children, jumping on the spot or replacing letters with numbers.

The Public ruin almost all forms of media- the cinema has taught us this.

Still, I love the setting, so… well, it will come down to the cost.

Prototype 2 in first of it’s kind over-18 live advert!

While Bethesdoids scurry in panic at the news of Prey 2 being put on hold until after 2012, fellow P-sequel Prototype 2 steps up a gear in it’s release campaign.

It took me a few moments to work out exactly what this event was, but it sounds brilliant; a live advertisement event, on this Sunday 22nd at 9pm.

We’re talking about a load of actors ‘being’ infected people and soldiers squaring off with Sargeant something-or-other, prota-gun-ist of the followup virusfest.

These brave souls will be recreating scenes of violence and gore from the game, hence the 18 rating. The live advert will be the first of it’s kind and will be streamed on the P2 facebook page. Groovy!

I’m not sure what to expect from this- presumably not a man whose body can morph into giant weaponry at will- but it sounds very interesting.

“Activision Publishing Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) today announced that PROTOTYPE 2®, the sequel to Radical Entertainment’s original best-selling game of 2009, will be launched in the UK with the world’s first ever over-18 live outdoor advertisement.

In London at 9:00 p.m. (BST) on Sunday 22nd April, the live ad will feature actors playing the parts of PROTOTYPE 2’s new protagonist Sgt. James Heller and his nemesis Alex Mercer, as well as Blackwatch military and the disease-ridden Infected.

Recreating action from the game, including a gruesome and bloody confrontation between the Heller and Mercer, the content has been recommended as only suitable for those over the age of 18 due its explicit nature, with an agreement to perform it post-watershed in order to avoid a younger audience.

“Due to the nature of PROTOTYPE 2’s content, the game has been rated by the BBFC and PEGI as certificate 18.  This live action advertisement reflects the game in its hard-hitting, fantasy nature and whilst we’re excited to bring this new game to our legions of fans, it would be inappropriate for under 18s to view it” commented David Tyler, Activision’s Minneapolis Business Unit EU General Manager.

The five minute long experience will be streamed live on the PROTOTYPE 2’s official Facebook page at www.facebook.com/prototype for those of age unable to experience the action live, offering fans around the world a chance to watch the production unfold.

As the PROTOTYPE 2 live ad reaches its crescendo, fans will have the opportunity to vote for one of two endings via the PROTOTYPE 2 Facebook page from 20th April.  The ending that receives the most votes will feature as part of the grand finale of the advertisement.

To watch the PROTOTYPE 2 live ad stream and vote on the ending, head over to www.facebook.com/prototype.  While there, be sure to join the PROTOTYPE Army – a community of over 453,000 (and growing) fans that receive constant updates from the team at Radical.  To find out more about PROTOTYPE 2, follow us on Twitter at www.twitter.com/radical_ent and check out the game’s official Web site at www.prototypegame.com for the latest trailers, screenshots, special promotions and more!”
