Have you ever…

Wanted a watch made out of wood?!

I know I have!

You can tell the time, right, but also be one with nature. Well, after destroying a tree and processing its innards. Surely that’s more nature-friendly than extracting metal ore from rocks.

Sargasm aside, WeWood have made these gorgeous wooden watches which are made from recycled wood (so they really are friendly) and they even plant a new tree for each one purchased!

So, you can tell the time without offending Gaia.

Interestingly, these are made from date trees, which supposedly have curative properties that relieve arthritis. I have no idea whether or not that still works in watch format, but it would be interesting to find out.

Anyway, pretty watches. £89.00 (ooh) from prezzybox.com.

Also, WeWood Wood Watch is fun to say. If only they could have Edward Woodward as the face of the brand.

Afternoon mortals!

Okay, so obviously I’m excited about GTA: V, but as I’ve said before, I’m not very clued-in regarding cars. I didn’t go through the car liking stage as a teen, I don’t know which end of the wrench makes the fixing stuff happen, nor do I feel the need to peruse ‘rims’.

In fact, I didn’t even get into the Need for Speed game franchise. I watched The Fast And The Furious hoping that Riddick would make an appearance.

That all said, I can still appreciate a shiny machine, and I’m still a gamer at heart.

So for all of those whose Venn diagrams of nerdom neatly cross between cars and games, I present this awesome and huge infographic courtesy of Motors.co.uk that lets you see some real world equivalents of the gorgeous cars of GTA: V!

You’ll have to click for the full size because it’s in epic x mahoosive resolution!

Good news, everyone!

Well, it is if you like games about shooting Nazis.

It’s okay to murder them with aplomb- they’re Nazis!

Anyway, yes, B-theds has announced their next big thang:

Wolfenstein: The New Order.

W:TNO is due for release in the fourth quarter of 2013 and being developed by MachineGames, a veteran studio apparently. I know some of them worked on the Riddick titles, so that’s cool.

Obviously, Wolfenstein is a big title, simply because of the fact that the franchise was among those that gave birth to the FPS. The last game was good, so let’s hope this is too. Deets are thin on the ground so far, but figuratively I’ll keep my eyes peeled.

W:TNO will be on the big three platforms and ‘next generation consoles’, which is a little vague- could it really be on the new gens?

“We are excited to bring a new chapter of Wolfenstein to gamers everywhere,” said Jens Matthies, creative director at MachineGames, as he charged headfirst into horse. “As fans of the series, working on this game is an honor, and our team is driven to create an unforgettable action-adventure experience that will make FPS fans proud.”

Jens, as the proud owner of a name that implies that he’s actually several women, has my bearded seal of approval.
